IT'S A MAD, MAD WORLD
What do you want from your wheelset? It's not a rhetorical question. This is ultimately about you. What do you want from a wheelset when performance matters most? Light weight. Aerodynamics. Reliability. What you want is some combination of those characteristics that gives you an advantage over the competition, right? Now we're talking. And by the way, yeah, that's what we wanted, too. So we did something about it: we formed Mad Fiber, a company created to advance wheel technology and performance.
To do that, we built a team around company president Ric Hjertberg. Name sound familiar? That's right: Founder of Wheelsmith, Technology Manager at FSA, and the man behind wheelfanatyk.blogspot.com. Joining him as chief technology officer, Max Kismarton, an aerospace engineering wonk with the development of carbon fiber frames for two of the world's most advanced aircraft on his resume, brings engineering experience and rigor to Ric's wheel experience and vision. Completing the management team is CFO Russ Riggins. An accomplished leader in operations and management, Russ is the guy responsible for delivering customer service and corporate citizenship worthy of the product that Mad Fiber creates.
As for said product, by optimizing wheel design and manufacturing processes to realize the full structural potential of carbon fiber, Ric, Max, Russ and the guys have created an exceptional road wheelset - whether you measure it in terms of weight, aerodynamics, reliability, or it's competition.
